A very challenging (college or graduate level) work for 4 pedal timpani reminiscent of the music of Elliott Carter. Features multiple pitch changes, playing on various beating areas, dead strokes, counter-rhythms, great dynamic contrast and rhythmic challenges. Requires general and wood timp. mallets as well as 4 yarn marimba mallets.
