This is one of Gordon Stout’s latest works for solo marimba. As the title suggests, it is a musical depiction of the warning bumps or grooves often found on roadways. He composed it specifically for his new CD- Astral Projections and it was premiered by She-e Wu at the 2000 PASIC. With its two-movement format of slow-fast, it could serve as an alternative program selection to Merlin. Can be heard on Stout’s CD Astral Projections and She-e Wu’s CD.
