Choro No. 3

This is the third in a series of seven compositions titled Choro. Gordon Stout tried to incorporate certain stylistic aspects of the Choro from Brazil and Argentina in these compositions, as well as explore different instrumental combination with the marimba. Instrumentation: marimba 5.0, soprano saxophone, violin, classical guitar, acoustic bass and percussion (small hand drum).

Gordon Stout (b.1952) is currently Professor of Percussion at the School of Music, Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y., where he has taught percussion since 1980.
