A very accessible high school/college, 4-mallet, 4 and 1/3-octave marimba solo showcases Middle Eastern/Aegean synthetic scales, melodies , harmonies, meter changes (11/8, 6/8, 9/8, etc.), contrapuntal playing, a legato chorale section, and a traditional folk dance in 2/4 time. The audience will love it (and be hungry at the same time)!
