Franz Liszt: The Bicentennial Collection

$22.00

To date, the solo marimbist’s repertoire from the Classical and Romantic periods contains a handful of transcriptions. The Bicentennial Collection will give audiences a first taste of Liszt’s solo piano works transcribed for marimba and fill in a long standing stylistic void in our repertoire.

Prelude, Op. 3 No. 14

$8.00

An alternate version of the Prelude in C# minor from the second volume of Preludes, Op. 3. This version has been registrally expanded to be performed on a 5-octave marimba. As in previous editions, this Prelude exemplifies a style of composition that forges a link from the piano-oriented keyboard works of the nineteenth century to the modern age of marimba performance. The Prelude makes significant technical demands and requires the highest degree of artistry from the player.
